Goldderby website names ‘Sun Children’ on Oscar predictions list

Gold Derby website has named Iranian Academy Awards-entry ‘Sun Children’ as a chance of receiving the award at Oscars 2021.

The award predicting website has named Majid Majidi’s blockbuster among the 15 movies, having the chance of receiving best foreign film award at the American event.

‘Sun Children’ tells the story of 12-year-old Ali and his three friends who work hard together to survive and support their families, doing small jobs in a garage and committing petty crimes to make fast cash. The flick focuses on child labor and how society should ensure a good education for them.

Co-written by Nima Javidi and Majidi, some notable actors such as Ali Nasiriyan, Javad Ezzati, and Tannaz Tabatabaee have appeared in the film.

Gold Derby is an American awards prediction and entertainment news website, founded in 2000.

In 2003, the website began giving out their own awards, the Gold Derby Awards, to film and television.
